Some Spring

When life is difficult
and full of great pain,
when life seems to consist of only darkness
and mistakes,

I remember me some spring
I've kept in my heart.

Nothing is so beautifull as spring,
and beautifull springs only
come after cold dark winters.
In the spring, birds begin to sing again,
new love and life is coming.

After a time in which it seemed
that they had perished,
all sorts of flowers which exist on earth do spring
in goodly colours gloriously arrayed.

The trees are coming into leaf,
the recent buds relax and spread.
Every year they die,
but their yearly trick of looking new
is written down in rings of grain.

It's still their story
in full devotion every year:
Last year is dead, spring seems to say,
begin afresh, afresh, afresh.

With spring it is the same as with us:
Who doesn't want to die, shall never bloom,
who doesn't make mistakes, makes nothing.

Life is full of ups and downs,
after darkness ligth will shine,
after pain happiness will come,
after sorrow love shall bloom.

So, I carry with me,
some spring in my heart:
Last year is dead, spring seems to say,
begin afresh, afresh, afresh.

It will be spring soon.
